Meaning
Pallavi:
I know of none other than Abhayambika; The destroyer of ignorance & bestower of limitless knowledge.
Anupallavi:
The one who has the gait of an elephant. The supreme goddess of the universe. The one who controls the movements of the sun.The one who innately
dwells in nada, laya and gati.
Charanam:
The one who shines forth with names and forms like Bala; the one who manifests herself
as the tatvas beginning with time, the one who ( as Kundalini Shakti ) shines forth through the energy centers beginning with mUlAdhAra to ( the Bramarandhra)
and ending with the DvAdashAnta. The one who makes up the gross & the subtle, the primordial power of the 3 worlds, the force that powers itself; the one who gives the
various grades of liberation such as saloka, sarupa & sameepya, the one who gave forth the tantric works like malini and mantra mala; the bearer of the trident.
The one who is the power behind the self-experiential state of Guruguha
kshEtra - mAyavaraM
Highlights:
1.aparOksha jnAne - According to Vedanta, cognition may be of different kinds. Jnana that is transient is achieved through means such as pratyaksha and other pramANAs.
aparOksha jnAna is the knowledge of the self borne out of realization.
2.ibharAja gatyAH / nabhOmaNi gatyAH / nAdalayagatyAH - Here Dikshitar uses the word gati in three distinct senses. The first is to convey the walk or gait of an elephant. It is an allusion frequently employed as a simile or metaphor to the walk of a woman. nabhOmani means the sun and here Dikshitar uses the word gati to indicate the Goddess as someone who controls the movements of the celestial bodies.
nAda is the innate music, laya is the component of time and gati is the term for the gait of the tala. Here the goddess is referred to as the one innate in all these elements of music.
The same term gati is used in the last line as svAnubhava gatyAh to mean the state of svAnubhava or experiential bliss of
the self.
3.Here, the word PrakashinyA has been used in multiple context in similar yet
different meanings such as manifest, shine forth, appear , illuminate etc.
4.mUlAdi dvAdashAnta - The energy (sakti) goes through channels from Muladhara chakra at the base of the spine (Adhara Chakra) to the Sahasrara plane at the crown by channels known as Nadis. Below Muladhara Chakra, there are Chakras of lower order, responsible for animal and human instinct, and intellect. The Yogi's soul departs the body and escapes through Brahmarandhra, the anterior fontal area, to merge with the Brahman. This area is said to be 12 inches above the crown and is called
Dvâdasântam (DvadasAnta), where absorption of Yogi's consciousness into the Pure Consciousness takes place.

5.sthUlAdi maunAnta prakASinyAH
Sthula dhyana is meditation upon a particular , such as one's teacher or the goddess.
Mauna dhyana is meditation in silence.
6.MulaprakRti is the root matter. All karma and impulse to perform actions in
the three worlds comes from this root matter. The Goddess is referred to as the
ultimate first principle.
7.Saloka, SamIpya, Sarupya & Sayujya refer to concepts in graded liberation.
8.These could be considered to be names of Tantric texts
9.Here the word gati is used in the sense of experience.
